Firefighting Scholarship

Firefighters have an instrumental impact on people’s lives. They put themselves at risk every day to extinguish fires that are dangerous and often life threatening. Our society looks to them as heroes, men and women who will selflessly do anything for their community.

While Philadelphia personal injury lawyer Jeff Rosenbaum knows how appreciative our society is to the men and women who serve, he recognizes that no one can be more influenced by these firefighters than their children. A parent’s occupation plays a major role in a child’s life, so we want to hear from them. We are offering a $3000 student scholarship to a college student of a firefighter who can embody what is its like to grow up with your parent in this occupation.

Participants are asked to write a 500+ word essay answering the prompt, How has your parent being a firefighter influenced your life?

To be eligible, a participant must

  • Be graduating high school in 2016 or actively enrolled in an accredited technical school, college, or university in the U.S (graduate students are welcome to apply)
  • Have a biological or step parent who has served as a firefighter
  • Submit their essay by July 1, 2016

In order to apply, participants must submit

  • 500+ word essay, relating to the prompt
  • First and last name, email address and phone number, listed at the beginning of the essay
  • Parent’s full name, associated fire department, and badge number listed at the beginning of the essay
  • A copy of the participant’s transcript or any form of attendance verification at an accredited technical school, college, or university

Please submit all entries to scholarship@rosenbaumfirm.com. The lawyers at Rosenbaum & Associates will then select the top essay that best represents how the candidate’s firefighting parent has influenced his or her life.
